My Story

My name is Hintsa Mehari from the Washington DC area. My journey into visual storytelling, deeply rooted in my studies in Film and Video Studies at George Mason University, has been transformative. I gained not just an academic foundation but a wellspring for personal and professional growth. This education enabled me to master traditional filmmaking and editing, while also diving into the realms of 3D animation and photogrammetry.
The practical application of my skills was further honed through my work experience. At the Fairfax Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB), I served as a content creator, a role that allowed me to employ my storytelling skills to craft compelling narratives that raised awareness and informed the community on important mental health and substance use issues. This position challenged me to communicate complex subjects in an engaging and accessible manner, refining my ability to connect with diverse audiences.
Simultaneously, I expanded my creative repertoire by freelancing at Thundershot Studios. This experience exposed me to a wide array of projects, from commercial work to independent films, where I leveraged my expertise in filmmaking and, editing. Working in Thundershot Studio dynamic environment, I was able to experiment with cutting-edge technologies and innovative storytelling techniques, further blending my technical skills with creative vision.
This comprehensive education has been the cornerstone of my journey, enabling me to perceive the art of storytelling through a multifaceted lens. It imparted the significance of narrative structure, the impact of visual editing, the transformative potential of 3D animation, and the groundbreaking precision of photogrammetry.
